Privacy Policy
This is the personal portfolio website of Joaquin Gordillo. I care about your privacy and aim to be transparent about what data this site collects and why. This page explains everything that is collected, how it is used, and how you can control or remove it.
Information you give me
The only personal information you actively provide is through the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Any message you write
This information is stored using Firebase (a Google service) only so I can read and reply to your message. You can review how Google handles data in the Firebase Privacy and Security policy. I do not sell, rent, or share this information with anyone.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the portfolio — for example, which pages are viewed most and how long people spend on them. GA4 collects anonymous usage data via cookies and sends it to Google's servers. No personally identifiable information is collected.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also review Google's Privacy Policy for full details on how they handle this data.
Heatmaps and session recording
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised heatmaps and session replays — this helps me understand how people interact with the layout (e.g. where they click or scroll). Clarity may record mouse movements, clicks, and scroll depth. It does not capture passwords, payment details, or any sensitive form fields.
Microsoft Clarity stores this data on Microsoft's servers. You can learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. To opt out, you can use your browser's Do Not Track setting or a privacy-focused browser extension.
Cookies
This site sets the following cookies or browser storage:
- Theme preference — stores your light/dark mode choice in
localStorage. Stays on your device, never sent to me. - Google Analytics — sets cookies (e.g.
_ga,_ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These expire after 2 years. - Microsoft Clarity — sets session cookies to power heatmaps and session recording. These expire at the end of your browsing session or after 1 year.
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking cookies may affect how Google Analytics and Clarity function, but will not affect your ability to use the site.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted on Vercel, which may automatically record standard technical information (IP address, browser type, referring URL) in server logs for security and reliability purposes. This is standard practice for any web host and is not used to personally identify you.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to:
- See what personal information I hold about you
- Correct it
- Delete it completely

Changes to this policy
If I update how this site handles data, I'll revise this page and update the "last updated" date at the top.
